This SKF Axios Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes SKF’s practices with information collected through the App. This Privacy Policy only addresses information collected directly through or from the App – it does not address or govern any information-gathering, use, or dissemination practices related to information collected from you other than directly through or from the App, such as from telephone, facsimile, postal mail, personal delivery, or other or additional offline means or media.
The App is not intended for children under the age of majority where they live. It does not knowingly collect personal information online from visitors in this age group.
By providing personal information to SKF or by using the App, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App or submit any personal information to SKF.

1. Collection of Personal Information. Except as specifically set forth herein, SKF may collect: (a) the email addresses of users that communicate with SKF via email; (b) information knowingly provided by users through the App; and (c) information knowingly provided by you via other digital properties that are expressly subject to this Privacy Policy. In order to access certain content, features, services, products, or benefits on the App, you may be required to provide SKF with certain information, including some types of personally identifying information such as your email, your address, and your phone number, as well as information regarding the company you represent. When you use the App, it may also communicate with sensors placed on the factory equipment you associate with the App to collect information relating to the usage of that machinery, including make/model and information based on the operating conditions of the machinery received from the sensors (“Diagnostic Information”).
If you do not wish to provide such information through the App, you may be unable to obtain certain content, features, services, products, or benefits of the App.
2. Use of Personal Information. Personal information collected by SKF may be used by SKF for limited purposes, including for the purposes of providing you any products or services requested through the App, recordkeeping, editorial and feedback purposes, content improvement, including improving our products and services and developing new ones, or to customize the content and layout of the App, or for other purposes which are disclosed to you and to which you consent, or which are permitted or required by applicable law. With your consent, as may be required under applicable law, personally identifying information, such as names, postal and email addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information voluntarily provided to SKF, may be added to SKF’s databases and used for future contact regarding updates to the App or new products or services provided by SKF or its business partners. From time to time, SKF may also need to contact you regarding information that you submitted to SKF. You agree that SKF may use your personal information in order to make such contact with you. SKF may desire to contact you for market research purposes or to provide you with marketing information that SKF believes would be of particular interest. Please contact SKF via the contact information provided above if you do not want to be contacted by SKF for these purposes.
SKF may use Diagnostic Information for the purposes of attempting to diagnose issues associated with the equipment to which such information pertains and to suggest potential repair options and procedures. We may also use Diagnostic Information for the purpose of content improvement, including improving our products and services and developing new ones, and also for the purpose of notifying you of products or services that SKF believes that you may be interested in obtaining.
3. Disclosure of Personal Information. Except as specifically set forth herein, any personally identifying information that you provide to SKF through the App will not be disclosed to other third party entities not affiliated with SKF or the SKF Axios sensor or gateway device. Your personal information and data, whether personally identifying or not, may be provided to third parties that contract with SKF to provide products, information, or other services to you or that SKF believes that you may be interested in obtaining, including any third party services that are offered as features of the App. Please contact SKF via the contact information provided above if you do not want your personal information to be disclosed by SKF for the purposes of third parties offering you their products or services.
We may disclose your personal information to third party service providers, including channel partners and distributors, that assist us with carrying out any of the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. While SKF may undertake efforts to see that any third party to which SKF discloses personal information is under an obligation to use that personal information solely for the purposes for which the information was disclosed, such third parties are independent third parties over which SKF exercises no control. SKF is not responsible for, and will not be liable for, the conduct, actions, omissions, or information handling or dissemination practices of third parties. Your personal information and data, whether personally identifying or not, may also be disclosed or distributed to another party with which SKF enters or reasonably may enter into a corporate transaction, such as, for example, a merger, consolidation, acquisition, or asset purchase, or to a third party pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or other form of legal process, in response to a request by or on behalf of any local, state, federal, provincial/territorial, or other government agency, department, or body, whether or not pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or other form of legal process. Finally, your personal information may be disclosed for other purposes which are disclosed to you and to which you consent, or which are permitted or required by applicable law.
4. Powered by AWS. The App and Device are powered by AWS meaning that personal information is shared with AWS, and this Privacy Policy incorporates the following AWS Privacy Notice.
5. Links to Other Services. The App may also contain links to third party websites or utilize plug-ins or features of third parties, for the convenience of users in locating information, products, or services that may be of interest. If you access a third party service from a link on this App, any information you disclose on that third party website, or that is otherwise collected by that third party, is not subject to this Privacy Policy. It is possible that these links themselves may be used by third parties or others to collect personal or other information about you. SKF is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties or for the content made available through their services. It is your sole obligation to review and understand the privacy practices and policies of all third parties, including those who operate services accessible through the App (including but not limited to the AWS Privacy Notice incorporated above).
6. Security Measures and Communications. While SKF takes physical, organizational, and technological measures to help safeguard the personal information in our control, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to or from SKF via the App or via email cannot be, and is not, guaranteed. You acknowledge that the technical processing and transmission of content via the App may be transferred unencrypted and involve: (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices. Accordingly, SKF is not responsible for the security of information transmitted via the App.
SKF cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures or use your personal information for improper purposes. In the event that any information under SKF’s control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.
The personal information we control may be accessed by persons within our organization, or our third party service providers, who require such access to carry out the purposes indicated above, or such other purposes as may be permitted or required by the applicable law. Personal information we collect is maintained at various locations. 7. Access to and Ability to Correct Personal Information; Opt-Out Right. Upon your request, SKF will provide you with a summary of any personal information retained by SKF that has been voluntarily provided by you to SKF through email, contact forms, or the App. You may modify, correct, change or update such personal information by contacting SKF via the contact information provided above. Except as necessary to obtain the services or information requested, you may opt out of having your personal information that has been voluntarily provided by you to SKF through email, contact forms, or the App, prospectively retained by SKF or used by SKF for secondary purposes.
8. Right to Change Privacy Policy. SKF reserves the right at any time to modify, alter, and update this Privacy Policy. Your use of the App following any changes means that you agree to follow and be bound by the Privacy Policy as changed. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any change to this Privacy Policy shall be effective as to any visitor who has visited the App before the change was made. It is the obligation of users of the App before the change to learn of changes to the Privacy Policy since their last use.
